It tells the story of three very different families competing to buy the same 1920s Spanish-style mansion that they think will solve all their problems. If you look at this show through a narrative lens, the pieces don’t fit together.
Eventually, it all comes together
There were a lot of red herrings. We dive so deep into each character’s backstory that the overall story doesn’t seem strong enough to stay on track.
It would definitely be stronger without the ensemble
There are a lot of familiar faces, so I understand why they did it. There were some weak characters, both in writing and performance.
The best part by far
Some of the others seemed to struggle with the balance between comedy and drama. I think it’s about time Netflix gave Linda Cardellini her own show.
